Do You Think it's Fair

Today is Friday, April 24, and I was wondering if you thought that cell phone usage should be banned completely, while you are operating a vehicle?

No I don't think cell phones should be banned completely while operating a vehicle because you should be able to still talk on the phone. I think when it comes to texting that should be banned since that causes a lot of accidents because they aren't paying attention to the road.

D.W- I think the use of cellphones should be banned because many people have been killed in car accidents because of the use of the cellular device.

D.M- I think cellphones should be completely banned whenever a person is driving a vehicle because that will help to decrease a lot of car accidents and save lives.

JG - I think cellphones should be banned while driving because it's a huge distraction on the road causing accidents. It's crazy how a little object can cause a huge injury to victims in a car.

A.V.- I think they should be banned to a limit. If the car has the built in bluetooth you should be allowed to use your cellphone. If the phone is hand held you should not be allowed to use the phone at all.

M.S I think cell phones should not be banned because I think cell phones are a useful tool to get a hold of someone if there is any emergency.

T.S. - I believe that cell phones should be banned completely while driving. All of the once valid reasons to support this are now debunked or no longer valid. For example, the excuse of using your phone to talk while driving during an emergency is no longer valid. At the time, most current vehicles that were made within the last 5 years come with an inside speaker system that lets you talk like you are on the phone without having to hold you phone. Only bad news comes from using your phone while driving such as accidents. So In the end, Phones should be banned from use while driving due to their bad effects.

N.T~ My opinion on banning cell phone usage completely while operating a vehicle is that it should not. Cell phone usage while operating a vehicle has many advantages. For example, a GPS, some people need to go places they have never been (vacations or job trips) so they need a map of some kind that can tell them what direction to go in and what turns to make, you can’t look at a paper map while driving, it will block your view of the road and you will get in an accident. Although cell phone usage has some advantages I understand that it is very hazardous to text/talk on the phone while operating a vehicle, it is one of the most hazardous things to do, you could hit a pedestrian while they are walking in the road. But still, people use their cell phones for directions or to call someone if you are in need of assistance if any type of accident or trouble such as, a drunk driver, a stolen vehicle, etc.

I think cell phone usage should not be completely banned. I believe that the driver should not text while they drive, but they should still be able to call or talk to someone in case of an emergency.

While operating a vehicle I don't think cell phones should be banned from usage. I think cellphones should have a car mode. Cellphone users should not be texting & driving . That's the only thing that should be banned. Cellphones have many great advantages such as GPS or calling someone for directions.

SS-I don’t think that phone usage should be completely banned because sometimes there’s an important call that you need to answer, and if you do answer than there’s no problem with that as long as you’re still paying attention to the road. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being on your phone while driving if you are paying attention to the road and have control over your vehicle. Other things like texting while driving should be banned because that requires you to be staring at the phone and you can’t concentrate on the road at the same time.

I think that using your cell phone for texting or typing should be banned, but phone calls should still be legal. Some people have phone calls they have to take, or are in an emergency situation, and I don’t think they should be pulled over for using their phone while driving. Texting on the other hand, is very distracting, and can easily cause an accident.
