How Important is Your Education?
Good Day Bloggers,
Today's posting asks you a simple question, how important is your education? If you were to ask the teen activist, Malala Yousafzai, she would tell you, "important enough to take a bullet to the head". Whoa, back up a minute...a bullet to the head? That's right, in 2012, Malala survived being shot by terrorists for speaking out for
girls’ right to be educated in her native country (Pakistan). Read the quote from Malala, who began advocating for a female's right to education in 2009.
“The terrorists thought that they would change my aims and stop my
ambitions,” she said in a speech to the United Nations last year, “but
nothing changed in my life except this: weakness, fear, and hopelessness
died, strength, power, and courage were born.”
Yesterday, (10/10/2014), Malala became the youngest person to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize. She is being
recognized for her global activism on education. Click on the following link to hear Malala accept her award. http://nyti.ms/1oYbFK7
Please come back and read the story and post your answers to the questions below:
1. According to Malala, why is education so important to girls in Pakistan?
2. How important is education to you?

What a brave girl. I highly respect anyone who can actually build up courage like that. I'm amazed these kind of things still go on in life.
